For over 170 years, Carmel Cemetery has stood as a testament to the history and heritage of Mansfield, Georgia, providing a final resting place for many beloved members of our community. It’s possible that some of your own relatives or ancestors are among those laid to rest here, making this hallowed ground a part of your family’s story as well.
Thanks to the dedication of civic-minded volunteers, Carmel Cemetery has been maintained without city funding, relying solely on donations and burial fees. Recently, significant restoration efforts have been undertaken to preserve the historic church on the property. With limited funds and a generous donation, we’ve stabilized the building by installing a new roof, painting the exterior, replacing windows, and removing hazardous trees. However, ongoing maintenance and preservation efforts require your support.
